Murdo has lodged and circulated a Motion at Holyrood asking fellow MSPs to acknowledge that the historic Queen's View in Perthshire was listed as the 'most beautiful place' in the UK.
Global travel website Big 7 Travel noted its 'breathtaking view' and its 'blue loch, snow capped mountains.'
The details of the Motion are:
That the Parliament acknowledges that the historic Queen’s View in Perthshire is listed as being the ‘most beautiful place’ in the UK; notes that the list was compiled by Big 7 Travel; notes that global travel website Big 7 Travel wrote, ‘If it’s good enough for royalty, then it’s good enough for anyone! This easily accessible and expansive view over Loch Tummel, Schiehallion mountain and the Perthshire Highlands was originally named after Queen Isabella (Robert the Bruce’s wife) in the 14th century, and has remained largely unspoiled since then’; further notes that they also praised its ‘breathtaking view’ describing its ‘blue loch, snow-capped mountains’ and said it is ‘the very best of what the UK itself has to offer’, and wishes the area of the Queen’s View continued popularity.
