Murdo has said that “enough is enough” in the long-running Sandie Peggie case and said it is time for “heads to roll.”
He was commenting following the farcical situation facing under fire NHS Fife, after they decided to continue to try to defend their position in their dispute with nurse Sandie Peggie.
His comments come after the health board made Sandie Peggie face a stressful disciplinary hearing and then issued an “appalling” statement last Friday that attacked the nurse and the groups that supported her.
Commenting, Murdo said: “Enough’s enough. The latest developments in the Sandie Peggie case mean that there can no longer be any public confidence in NHS Fife – their Chief Executive and the board must go, now.
“If they won’t go willingly, then First Minister John Swinney must stop hiding, take responsibility and sack them. Heads must roll following this sorry debacle.
“Many people were rightly shocked by the appalling statement issued by NHS Fife on Friday – they just seem to be digging a bigger hole for themselves. The only thing we should now hear from NHS Fife is an unqualified apology to Sandie Peggie and a generous offer of a settlement to her.”
