About Murdo Fraser

Murdo lives in Perth with his wife and two children. He worked as a solicitor
specialising in commercial law before entering the Scottish Parliament in 2001,
representing Mid-Scotland & Fife, a position he has held since then. In that time he
has held 100s of local surgeries and helped many thousands of constituents with
their issues.

Murdo has led for the Scottish Conservatives on Business, Economy, Tourism &
Culture. In his time in Parliament he has championed the interests of small
businesses in particular. For his work campaigning assiduously for the dualling of
the A9 – a project now 10 years behind schedule – he was named by the charity
BRAKE as their Road Safety Campaigner of the Year.

Murdo is involved in a number of charities and is currently Chair of Trustees of the
National Prayer Breakfast for Scotland. His other interests include Scottish history –
where he is a published author and podcaster – hillwalking (he has climbed
Kilimanjaro and more than 250 Munros), football, golf & classic cars.
